Privacy Policy

1. Publisher and contact

Kwizu Studio publishes Compress Video. For support or privacy requests, contact kwizustudio@gmail.com. The app has no user account and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. Information you choose to send by email is used to answer your request.

2. Video access and local processing

You select videos through the system picker or share them with the app. Compression and previews run locally. Compressed copies are saved to Photos on iOS or the device gallery on Android when you request it. If you choose Share, the system passes the selected video to the app or recipient you choose, whose own privacy policy applies.

The optional space-saving feature requests access to the selected originals and asks for confirmation before deleting them, after checking saved copies. It does not delete originals automatically. Photos may keep deleted files in Recently Deleted; Android may keep them in the trash. You control their final removal.

3. Technical analytics

We use PostHog on its European infrastructure to understand usage, improve compression estimates and diagnose failures. Measurements include app openings and interactions, compression and export outcomes, video dimensions, duration, file size, bitrate and codec, device and processor model, system and app version, language, a random installation identifier and network IP address. The IP address may be used to infer a country.

These measurements do not contain video content, thumbnails, file names or paths. Installation identifiers and IP addresses are pseudonymous data, not a guarantee of anonymity. Session recording is disabled. We do not use these measurements for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

4. Advertising and purchases

Android version 1.8.0 and all iOS versions do not include AdMob, Google’s advertising consent SDK or RevenueCat. There are no ads, paid unlocks or in-app purchases in these versions.

Older installed Android versions may still contain advertising and purchase verification. Their data practices are described in the policy for Android 1.7 and earlier. Updating or uninstalling an older version does not erase records already held by its service providers.

5. Permissions and storage

Photos or gallery access supports the videos you select, saving copies and the optional confirmed deletion flow. Android may use notifications and a foreground service to show compression progress. Network access supports technical analytics and the privacy-policy link. The app does not request precise location access.

The app stores compression calibration, preferences, export history and temporary working files locally. Clearing app data where supported or uninstalling removes its local settings and working files. Videos already saved to Photos or the gallery remain under your control.

6. Retention and deletion

Our PostHog technical measurements are retained for up to twelve months. Uninstalling stops future activity from the installation but does not itself delete previously transmitted records. To request deletion, contact kwizustudio@gmail.com. We may need information that lets us locate the relevant installation; please do not send private videos. See data deletion instructions.

7. Your rights and updates

You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal data, or to object to processing. The app is a general-audience utility and is not directed specifically at children. We update this policy when our practices change.
